Equipment - PDA

eTech’s inventory clerk business software is supported on most HTC manufactured PDAs. The two PDAs recommended and supplied by eTech are the HTC P6500 and HTC X7500. In their opinion, the HTC P6500 (used by over 60% of eTech’s customers) delivers the best all-round performance and value for money.

Both the HTC P6500 and HTC X7500 have integrated cameras, use the Windows Mobile 6 operating platform, are 3G GPRS enabled for data submission in the field and GPS enabled for TomTom satellite navigation.

PDA’s can either be sourced independently by the customer or supplied to the customer by eTech. PDAs sourced independently by the customer are sent to eTech for software configuration at no additional charge. PDAs are supplied by eTech either as an Outright Purchase, through their Subsidised option or their Monthly option.

eTech typically provides the SIM card required to enable survey submissions in the field. The associated costs maintaining the SIM card are included in the applicable Survey Generation Fees payable for use of the software, subject to a minimum monthly usage requirement of  1 Inventory Report per month. As with Hardware, clients can provide their own SIM card for use in the PDA if they wish, in which case no minimum monthly usage requirements apply.
