Inventory-Portal Ltd 1-Day Course for Experienced Candidates
What constitutes a qualified or experienced candidate?
If you are for example
- A qualified and accredited Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA),
- A RICS Chartered Surveyor or
- An experienced Inventory Clerk or
- Experienced in estate agency or property lettings
- Any other qualified person who routinely enters clients properties to undertake a technical inspection
For these candidates, becoming a Licensed Inventory Scheme (LIS) Member with Inventory-Portal Ltd (IPL) is a very straightforward process and will take only a matter of a few weeks.

Route to Qualification
What happens once you have gained the Award?
All successful training course graduates are able to use the SMART-inventory software to produce their SMART-inventory Reports (SiR).
Hardware
You will need to acquire the correct XTC6500 PDA device onto which the SMART-inventory software will be loaded free of charge by e-Tech Ltd. e-Tech Ltd are market leaders in PDA driven surveying software applications including SMART-epc and SMART-floor plan systems.

Software use contract
To use SMART-inventory software you will need to enter into a software use contract with e-Tech Ltd.
The SMART-inventory software will be loaded onto your PDA free of charge by e-Tech Ltd but under the contract.
Software Click Fees
Each time you create a SMART-inventory Report you will be charged the report generation click-charge by e-Tech Ltd of £5.50+ Vat, per report (a minimum monthly click charges of £5.50+Vat per month exist to maintain this software license).
Optional Membership of the Licensed Inventory Scheme (LIS)
Once you have passed the Inventory-Portal Ltd Inventory Provider training and exam you will be able to join the optional, Licensed Inventory Scheme (LIS) and use the “Accredited Member” logo on your sales materials and reports.
Members of LIS are regularly audited as part of our Quality Assurance Regime and are supported with technical and business development advice, mentoring and Licensed Inventory Scheme (LIS) branded Marketing materials.
To join LIS you must have attended and passed training and examination with inventory-portal Ltd and supply an in-date CRB check (Disclosure Scotland) and to hold a current Professional Indemnity and General Liability Insurance Policy.
Will IPL supply any work to LIS Members?
Inventory-Portal Ltd aims to offer LIS Members the opportunity to carry out work for a panel-managed or sub-contracted panel of inventory clerks, subject to the availability of these instructions and the adequate national coverage of our members.
In the meantime our members are encouraged and assisted to develop their local market by canvassing letting agents, showing the sample SMART-inventory Report and promoting the benefits of using a Licensed Inventory Scheme Member as a trained, Security-Checked and Quality Assured Professional, able to supply a standardised, photo-embedded report electronically, to a consistently high standard.
Inventory-Portal Ltd will actively promote the unique benefits of our LIS Members and the SMART-inventory Report centrally to national and regional letting agents and to the wider market via promotional events and our website.
Once a reliable, national or regional network of LIS Members has been established Inventory-Portal Ltd will attempt to secure Clients to outsource their inventory supply chain. This work will be passed out to LIS Members who have chosen to join our panel and agree our contract terms. (We would take a modest percentage of the gross fee per report as our commission on all such instructions).
You are expected to source your own work, at your own price, from your own clients. LIS Members’ support services will provide LIS Members you with marketing advice and promotional Inventory-Portal branded materials to help you win this business from your local letting agents and landlords in your area.
Fees
- The New-Entrant distance learning pack is available for £150 plus Vat
- Our Experience Candidate 1-Day Inventory Provider Course is £195 plus VAT. Included within the course fees are 1 day of academic training, all printed course materials and the adjudicated exam. No travel or overnight costs are included. These are the responsibility of each delegate.
Other fees
- Optional membership of the Licensed Inventory Scheme is £150 +VAT per annum.
- A Disclosure Scotland CRB checks costs about £23.
- Professional Indemnity Insurance and General Liability Insurance premiums for inventory Clerks are variable fom market leading suppliers such as Hiscox at www.hiscox.com for about £23 per month inc taxes on direct debit.
- PDA -The current cost of the XTC 6500 is approximately £425 +Vat to buy outright, but these are also available on 24 month contract terms from eTech Ltd from circa £30 +Vat per month.
- SMART-inventory Report Click Charges are paid direct to e-Tech Ltd at £5.50 +Vat, per report generated.
Why choose to become a Licensed Inventory Scheme Member?
Once you have become a Licensed Inventory Scheme Member with Inventory-Portal Ltd and e-Tech Ltd you will have a further skill set to take to the property market.
Over 80 candidates have already passed this training and started work in the inventory sector but we do need many more to offer a national coverage.
